Sunday evening tech down

 Blessings, Darlings!

It's a bright, sunny, but cold day here in my corner of the Appalachians.  Waxing moon.  My cousin Barbara's 80th birthday (Happy birthday!)  Temperature might get up above freezing today.  Or might not.
I've got the dishwasher running, and the second load of laundry in that washer.  Due to the cold weather, the laundry will go into the dryer.  Soon I'll be heading out to work for the day.

While this winter hasn't seemed to be particularly cold - we're certainly going thru' propane at an advanced rate.  I might need to buy more to get thru' the winter, a concept that is intimidating given how high the price all fossil fuels are this year.  Not that I expect them to get much lower in future years, mind you.  But most years I can fill the tank for $900 or so and get thru' a year, while last fall I paid over $1400 and worry that I'll run out.

Chubby Hubby and I had a talk about the propane issue, and he spent the evening trying to get the theoretically programmable thermostat programmed.  He had no success.  So now we're just going to manually change it, morning and evening.  We had been leaving it at 66 degrees all the time.  Now, from about 8 pm to 5:30 am, it will be set to 62 degrees.  Maybe that will help.  And maybe the guys will take shorter showers.  I've been doing that for a while now.

Unexpected Garden Time!

Blessings, Darlings!

News?  WaPo has a GREAT article on 'excess deaths' since the Corona Virus started.  A base line on the REAL death toll.  Tho' it is probably still somewhat light, since accidental deaths (car accidents, etc) are going to be down with less folks on the road and such.  https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/2020/04/27/covid-19-death-toll-undercounted/?arc404=true

I'm feeling sluggish again today.  I mean, I got up and washed all the pots and pans, and I've got laundry going, but I'm having a really hard time facing washing the kitchen floor.  And a hard time remembering what day of the week it is.  Monday?

Well, kitchen floor is done.  And I'm contemplating possible plot twists in the Dresden Files books coming out.  As one does while washing floors.  Especially when what one SHOULD be doing is contemplating what to make for dinner.  Ooops.

Now I SHOULD vacuum.  Don't think I'm going to do that this afternoon.  Maybe this evening.  First I should work on dinner plans.  Okay - fried chicken, rice, and salad.

I'm still not vacuuming this afternoon.  The weather cleared up, it's sunny and no rain falling, the temperature is 56 and the wind has dropped.  I transplanted turnips, lettuce, radishes, beets, rutabagas, and turnips instead of vacuuming.  While out I noticed that the red onions I let over winter are now sending up snapes.  Yummy!  In a few days I'll harvest them, marinade them, and roast them.

Vacuuming has been accomplished.  That's it for the day.

What just happened?

Wait.  How did this happen?

I left my desk, business cordless phone in hand, to go up to the 3rd floor and exercise in the bedroom where the exercise bike is, you know the whole 'new month/new goals' thing.  Yet now I'm down in the basement at my desk again, phone elsewhere, no exercising done.

Let's see.  I entered the bedroom.  I sighed, remembering that I have to get the Chubby Hubby packed for the business trip he leaves for WAY too early on Sunday morning.  I moved a TV table over where I exercise, put the phone, timer, and TV remote on it.  Then ... hmmm.

Then I went into the closet and got out the suitcase I'll pack for him.  I stood it upright by the window, since if I lay it down the cats will sleep on it and cover the dark-green material with grey and white cat hair.  I started stacking his underwear on top of it.  He doesn't have enough clean undies right now to pack for the trip.  I took the full laundry hamper out of the closet.  I wondered what shape his company-name embossed collared shirts were in.  I discovered that 3 of the 4 have stains that may not come out but I felt I should TRY to get the stains out.  I took the laundry hamper and shirts to the laundry room on the 'middle' floor.  I pre-treated the stains. I started the washer, filling it partially by buckets since the cold water hose needs replacing.

I came back down to the basement, and asked the CH what color Microchip shirts he needs for this year (he needs to wear THEIR shirts when he teaches classes).  Apparently this year is a Blue Shirt year, which seems FAR safer than the red shirt years.  And I THINK he has two blue shirts.

I walked from his office to mine. I sat down. I saw that my phone isn't here.  Where is it?  Oh, yeah, upstairs .... because I set off to exercise .....

PS - I was most of the way done with the tags on this (last step before posting) when I had leave my desk to fill the washer again for the rinse cycle.
