Contact tracing

Blessings Darlings!

It's 4 days before the 'latest frost date in my area'.  I finally sat down and planned what I was planting where in the main garden.  It's not that complex, I just need hot peppers away from sweet peppers, in case I want to save seeds, tomatoes away from potatoes, since they carry the same diseases, cukes away from tomatoes, give the hard squash lots of room to expand into, etc.  Only one of the winter squash seeds has come up so far, might need to start some more.  I have 3 different varieties to play with.

There is a training coming up in my area, to learn to do contact tracing for folks with coronavirus.  I've sent them email to get into the training.  I over qualify, having a public health degree and years working on hotlines.  And it's work at home, so keeps me isolated.  HOWEVER, the fact is that most folks don't answer their phones if the don't know the caller.  This fact is going to complicate making this approach actually work for contact tracing.  Sick folks are even less likely to answer their phones if a stranger, or strange agency, calls.  I'm also not sure that it is going to pay us, this being West Virginia where much of the health department stuff is done by volunteers.  OTOH, I also have info on a program that DOES pay, and pay well.  It contracts with the govts.  I've contacted both.

I would like a nap.  Or an entire Boston Cream Pie.  Or something.

Dinner tonight was chicken Yaki Soba, sort of the Japanese version of Lo Mein.  I add a LOT of veggies - tonight shredded cabbage and carrots.  I wanted to add bean sprouts, but I started sprouting them two days too late for that.  I'll use them in a stir-fry later this week.

Today's magic - reinforcing the household wards.

Oh - I'm at high frustration with witch groups who feel that 'thoughts and prayers' are the pinnacle of magic.

I think that's it for today.

Frondly, Fern
